SYSTEMS 840MP
-
The first hybrid design mixing RTL and SUHL.
- This machine was
offered in a dual processor configuration with floating point
processor, shared memory, and four port memory modules.
- It was
the first mapped memory machine by SEL
- Tthe Shared memory also contained IO Processors, BTCs, and CGPs.
- The CGP was a computer
graphics processor that could branch, store place and branch, nest
subroutines and interrupt the cpu to report waypoints. The graphic
system was a 816 vector display unit and was very state of the art for
the 1960s.
- Cycle time was 1.5
microseconds
